Structure and properties of CY3

CY3 is a commonly used fluorescent dye, also known as anthocyanine dye. It is widely used in biomedical research fields, such as microscopy imaging, flow cytometry analysis, and DNA sequencing.

CY3 dyes contain a cyclohexane ring and three conjugated rings in their structure, which gives CY3 dyes stable fluorescent properties. In addition, CY3 dyes usually carry a reactive group (e.g., NHS ester, maleimide, etc.) to facilitate reactions with proteins, antibodies, or other biomolecules.

CY3 dye has a maximum absorption wavelength of 550 nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 570 nm, and the emission spectrum is located in the orange-red region.CY3 dye has a high fluorescence quantum yield and good photostability, which makes it an ideal labeling molecule. In addition, CY3 dye has good solubility in aqueous solution, which makes it easy to be used in biological experiments.

It should be noted that CY3 dyes are sensitive to light and oxygen, so they need to be stored and used in an environment protected from light and with as little oxygen as possible. In addition, since CY3 dyes are somewhat biotoxic, appropriate protective measures need to be taken during handling.
