Description:

CLS-PEG-MAL Cholesterol is a kind of PEG derivative with heterobifunctional group. Cholesterol is the basic material of cell membrane and liposome, and also an indispensable important material of animal tissue and cell. It not only participates in the formation of cell membrane, but also is the raw material for synthesis of bile acid, vitamin D and steroid hormone. Cholesterol can regulate the fluidity of phospholipid bilayer membrane, reduce membrane permeability and drug leakage. At the same time, it can maintain the flexibility of lipid membrane and enhance the ability of liposome vesicles to resist the changes of external conditions. It also has a protective effect on the oxidation of phospholipids. Maleimide can form stable thioether bond with sulfhydryl in ph6.5-7.5. Peg conjugated cholesterol has better water solubility. Peg conjugated cholesterol derivatives can be used for cell membrane imaging, liposomes and drug delivery.
