1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycerol-3-ethanolamine phosphate-n-methoxypolyethylene glycol-1000 (DSPE-PEG) can be used to prepare stereostable liposomes, and its properties were studied by small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). It is also applicable to cholesterol free polyethylene glycol (cf-peg) liposomes to study their long-term stability when loaded with hydrophilic drug carboplatin. Methoxypolyethylene glycol DSPE (MPEG DSPE) is a phospholipid peg derivative with terminal DSPE group at the end of PEG. DSPE (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate ethanolamine) is a highly hydrophobic C18 saturated phospholipid. Pegylated DSPE has excellent amphoteric affinity, which provides superior conditions for the encapsulation and transmission of small molecules and macromolecules.
